자영알뜰주유소 개소가 최근 440여 곳에 달하는 점을 감안해 보면 고가판매 알뜰주유소 적발건이 심각하게 많으며, 일반 주유소보다 비싸게 판매하는 행위는 알뜰주유소 설립취지와 지원예산을 감안해 볼 때 커다란 문제점으로 지적된다.

한국석유공사는 이와 같은 상황에 올해 ‘22년 7월부터 고가판매 알뜰주유소를 대상으로 공급가격을 리터당 5원~15원을 할증하는 대책을 내놨지만, 7월 이후에도 총 82곳이 일반 주유소보다 비싼 가격으로 파악되었다.
