24일 오후 2시 30분 한국프레스센터에서 한국언론연합회와 대한민국파워리더대상 조직위원회가 주최하는 2023 대한민국파워리더 대상의 시상식이 개최된 가운데 구자근 의원이 국회의정부문 대상 수상자로 선정되어 상장을 수여받았다.

구자근 의원은 산업분야의 혁신과 지역균형발전을 비롯하여 국민의 민생과 밀접한 법안을 100여건 넘게 발의하며 지난해 언론사 집계 기준 경북지역 입법발의 1위를 기록한 바 있다 .
특히 로봇과 반도체, 탄소산업 등 첨단산업 지원을 위한 산업입법을 비롯해 대학생 학자금 지원과 보훈단체 지원, 신혼가구 주택자금 지원 등 각종 민생입법에도 적극 나섰다는 평가가 이어진다.
구자근 의원은 “지난 정부의 막대한 예산 지출에도 불구하고 국가 경쟁력은 뒤처지고 민생은 오히려 악화되었다. 국제경제의 불확실성이 커져가고 고물가 등으로 인해 국가경제가 어려워지고 있는 지금 경제활성화와 지역균형 발전, 좋은 일자리 창출을 위해 끊임없이 노력해나가겠다.” 고 말했다.
