【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구지법 제1행정부(재판장 정석원)가 19일 대구퀴어문화축제 조직위원회가 중부경찰서를 상대로 낸 ‘차로 제한 집행정지’ 가처분 신청을 기각했다.

조직위는 축제 참가자의 안전을 위해 당초 신고한 대중교통전용지구 2개 차로를 모두 사용해야 한다고 주장했다.

그러나 재판부는 “경찰의 처분이 과도하게 집회의 자유를 제한했다고 보기 어렵고, 공공복리에 적합한 측면이 있다”며 받아들이지 않았다.

앞서 경찰은 시민의 통행권 보장 등을 이유로 1개 차로에서만 축제를 진행하도록 제한 통고했다. 

이에 조직위는 법원 판단에 대비해 국채보상로 중앙네거리~공평네거리 600m 구간(2·28기념중앙공원 측 3차로)으로 장소를 변경해 신고를 마쳤다.

배진교 대구퀴어문화축제 조직위원장은 “축제의 특수성이 제대로 고려되지 않았다”며 “기각 결정이 나왔다고 멈추지 않고 집회의 자유가 보장될 때까지 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 축제를 반대하는 일부 종교단체와 상인들은 맞불 집회를 예고해 국채보상로 일대 교통 혼잡과 물리적 충돌 가능성도 우려된다. 

경찰은 대규모 인력을 투입해 안전 관리에 나설 계획이며, 대구시도 상황 관리에 적극 협조한다는 방침이다.

On the 19th, the Daegu District Court's First Administrative Division (Presiding Judge Jeong Seok-won) dismissed the Daegu Queer Culture Festival Organizing Committee's application for an injunction against the Jungbu Police Station to suspend lane restrictions.

In response, the organizing committee, in anticipation of the court's ruling, changed the location to a 600-meter section between Jungang Intersection and Gongpyeong Intersection on Gukchaebosang-ro (the third lane toward the February 28 Memorial Central Park) and submitted the application.

Bae Jin-kyo, chairman of the Daegu Queer Culture Festival organizing committee, stated, "The festival's unique characteristics were not properly considered," and added, "We will not stop just because of the rejection. We will continue until freedom of assembly is guaranteed."

Meanwhile, some religious groups and merchants opposing the festival have announced counter-protests, raising concerns about traffic congestion and potential physical confrontations along Gukchaebosang-ro.

The police plan to deploy a large number of personnel to ensure safety, and the Daegu Metropolitan City government will actively cooperate in managing the situation.
