【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=철강·비철금속 산업의 미래와 글로벌 통상 환경 변화에 대응하는 전략을 제시하는 ‘제8회 국제철강 및 비철금속산업전(SMK2025)’이 오는 11월 19일부터 21일까지 3일간 대구 EXCO 서관에서 열린다.

이번 전시회는 ‘미래를 위한 변화’라는 주제로, AI 기반 제조혁신과 급변하는 글로벌 통상 질서에 대응할 철강산업의 새로운 방향을 제시한다. 특히 ‘대구국제기계산업대전’과 같은 기간, 같은 장소에서 동시에 개최돼 기계·소재·부품 등 국가 제조산업이 융합된 대표 전시 플랫폼으로 시너지 효과가 기대된다.

경상북도, 포항시, 한국철강협회, 한국비철금속협회가 공동 주최하고, 엑스코, 더페어스, S&M미디어, KOTRA가 주관하는 이번 행사는 국내외 95개사, 320개 부스로 구성된다. 포스코, 현대제철, 풍산, 넥스틸 등 주요 기업들이 참가해 각사의 핵심 기술과 사업전략을 선보일 예정이다.

전시장에는 ▲고부가가치 첨단금속소재 ▲고기능성 강관 및 와이어케이블 ▲이차전지 및 배터리 소재 ▲수소·에너지·탄소중립 대응 기술 등 차세대 핵심 산업 기술이 대거 공개된다. 현대제철은 ‘H-CORE’와 ‘HyECOsteel’ 브랜드를 앞세워 ESG 기반 생산체계를 소개한다. 풍산은 전기동 소재와 방산·보안 솔루션 등 다양한 비철 확장 사례를, 넥스틸은 북미 시장 OCTG 생산 및 글로벌 공급망 전략을 공개할 계획이다.

또한 AI 기반 스마트 제조, 이차전지 소재, 친환경 에너지 대응 기술 등 산업 간 융합을 조망하는 특별관과 기술 세미나도 함께 열린다.

전시 기간에는 ‘아젠다 컨퍼런스’를 비롯해 ▲철강산업 고도화 ▲미국 통상규제 대응 전략 ▲글로벌 배터리 소재 시장 전망 ▲AI 기반 제조혁신 전략 등 다채로운 세션이 마련된다. 이 외에도 STS 산업발전, 강관산업, ESG 세미나, 친환경 금속 인력 간담회, 직무특강, 채용설명회 등 다양한 부대행사가 펼쳐진다. KOTRA가 주관하는 수출상담회에는 미주, 유럽, 아시아 7개국 22개 해외 바이어가 참여해 국내 기업의 글로벌 진출 지원에 나선다.

아울러 경북테크노파크, 산업단지공단, 산업기술평가관리원 등 유관기관이 함께하는 공동관과 대학관(LINC 3.0)도 운영돼 산학연 협력 네트워크 강화에도 힘을 보탤 전망이다.

전춘우 엑스코 대표이사는 “철강·비철금속과 기계산업 전시가 한 공간, 같은 기간에 열리는 것은 국내 제조업 전시 통합 플랫폼으로서 의미가 크다”며 “동시 개최를 통해 산업 간 시너지는 물론, 지역 제조 생태계 경쟁력도 크게 높아질 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

The 8th International Steel and Nonferrous Metals Industry Exhibition (SMK2025), which presents strategies for the future of the steel and nonferrous metals industry and responding to the changing global trade environment, will be held for three days from November 19th to 21st at the West Building of Daegu EXCO.

Under the theme of "Change for the Future," this exhibition presents a new direction for the steel industry to address AI-based manufacturing innovation and the rapidly changing global trade environment. Furthermore, co-hosting the Daegu International Machinery Industry Fair (DMF) and the Daegu International Machinery Industry Fair (DIMF) is expected to create synergy effects as a representative exhibition platform converging the nation's manufacturing industries, including machinery, materials, and components.

Co-hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Pohang City, the Korea Iron and Steel Association, and the Korea Nonferrous Metals Association, and organized by EXCO, The Fairs, S&M Media, and KOTRA, this event will feature 95 domestic and international companies and 320 booths. Major companies such as POSCO, Hyundai Steel, Poongsan, and Nexteel will participate and showcase their core technologies and business strategies.

The exhibition will showcase a wide range of next-generation core industrial technologies, including high-value-added advanced metal materials, high-performance steel pipes and wire cables, secondary batteries and battery materials, and technologies for hydrogen, energy, and carbon neutrality. POSCO will showcase low-carbon steel products and hydrogen reduction ironmaking technology under its "Greenit" brand, while Hyundai Steel will showcase its ESG-based production system under its "H-CORE" and "HyECOsteel" brands. Poongsan will showcase diverse non-ferrous metal expansion cases, including electrolytic copper materials and defense and security solutions, while Nexteel will unveil its OCTG production in the North American market and its global supply chain strategy.

Special pavilions and technology seminars will also be held to explore cross-industry convergence, including AI-based smart manufacturing, secondary battery materials, and eco-friendly energy technologies.

The exhibition period will feature a variety of sessions, including the "Agenda Conference," as well as sessions on ▲Steel Industry Advancement ▲Strategies for Responding to US Trade Regulations ▲Global Battery Materials Market Outlook ▲AI-Based Manufacturing Innovation Strategies. Furthermore, various side events will include seminars on STS industry development, steel pipe industry, ESG, eco-friendly metal workforce meetings, job special lectures, and recruitment information sessions. KOTRA-hosted export consultations will bring together 22 international buyers from seven countries in the Americas, Europe, and Asia to support Korean companies' global expansion.

Furthermore, a joint pavilion and university pavilion (LINC 3.0), co-hosted by related organizations such as Gyeongbuk Technopark, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, and Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Evaluation and Planning, are expected to strengthen the industry-academia-research cooperation network.
