 2021년과 2022년에는 코로나19로 인해 비대면 영상회의로 개최했지만 올해는 통합방위협의회 위원 및 관계관 160여 명이 참석한 가운데 3년 만에 대면으로 진행했다.

이번 회의에서는 최근 북한의 탄도미사일, 무인항공기 도발 등 한반도의 긴장과 대립 상황이 지속적으로 이어지고 있는 가운데, 러시아의 우크라이나 침공이 1년 넘게 지속되고 있어 국내외 안보 위협 상황에 대한 정보 공유를 통해 대응 방안을 점검했고 한편, 앞으로의 통합방위 추진 방향에 대하서도 논의했다.

또 대형 화재 발생에 대한 통합 대응, 비상시 전력 지원, 사이버테러 대응, 국가중요시설 방호 등을 토의하고 민·관·군·경이 지역 실정에 맞게 유기적으로 협업하여 다양한 비상 상황에 대한 대응체계를 갖추도록 했다.

홍준표 대구시장은 “대내외적으로 엄중한 안보 상황 속에서 지역민의 안전과 평화로운 생활을 위해서는 철저한 사전 대비와 점검이 우선되어야 하며, 실전과 같은 훈련을 통해 안보 태세를 확고히 구축해야 한다”고 강조했다.
