신고를 받고 출동한 경찰과 119 구조대는 A씨를 머리 부상 상태로 인근 병원에 긴급 이송했다. 다행히 생명에는 지장이 없는 것으로 전해졌다.
경찰 조사에 따르면 A씨는 해당 건물 입주 사무실 직원으로, 오전 7시 50분경 지하 주차장에 차량을 세운 뒤 한동안 비상구 계단 등에 머물다가 10층으로 올라간 것으로 파악됐다. 이후 복도에서 스스로 가스총을 사용한 것으로 조사됐다.
A씨가 사용한 가스총은 정식 허가를 받아 개인적으로 소지하고 있던 호신용 가스총으로 확인됐다.
경찰 관계자는 "범죄와는 관련 없는 사고로 보고 있으며, 정확한 경위와 동기에 대해 추가 조사를 진행 중"이라고 밝혔다.
