이번 정비 대상은 폐업이나 이전 등으로 오랜 기간 관리되지 않은 무연고 간판, 훼손‧파손으로 추락 위험이 높은 간판, 도시 미관을 해치는 노후 간판 등이다. 이 가운데 기상 악화 시 낙하 위험이 특히 큰 간판은 우선적으로 정비에 나설 방침이다.
철거는 주민 제보나 건물주 신청을 통해 접수된 뒤 현장 확인을 거쳐 진행된다. 간판 소유주가 확인될 경우 자진 철거를 유도하고, 연락이 어렵거나 소유주가 없을 땐 광고주 또는 건물주(관리인) 동의 절차를 거쳐 구청이 직접 철거한다.
제보와 신청은 4월 15일까지 중구청 도시디자인과 또는 각 동 행정복지센터에서 접수할 수 있다.
류규하 중구청장은 “방치된 간판이 강풍 등으로 떨어질 위험이 있어 주민 안전을 위협할 수 있다”며 “선제적인 정비로 안전사고를 예방하고 쾌적한 도시 환경을 만들어가겠다”고 했다.
한편, 중구는 최근 3년(2023~2025년)간 폐업 업소 벽면 간판과 돌출 간판 등 117개를 철거하는 등 노후 간판 정비사업을 꾸준히 추진해오고 있다.
