또 다른 의원들과의 형평성 문제도 제기됐다. 경실련은 허위공문서 작성과 위장전입 등으로 유죄를 받은 의원들에 대해서는 징계가 내려지지 않았던 반면, 김동현 의원에 대해서만 중징계를 단행한 것은 ‘선택적 징계’라는 의혹을 제기했다. 또 김동현 의원과 김오성 의원 관련 사안에 대해서는 징계 시도조차 없었던 점을 지적하며 이번 결정이 형평성을 잃었다고 주장했다.

이와 함께 경실련은 윤리심사자문위원회 권고를 최대한 존중하고, 겸직 및 영리행위 등에 대한 자문 기능 강화를 위한 회의 규칙 개정도 요구했다.

Another issue regarding equity with respect to other council members was raised. They further urged, "Severe disciplinary action must be taken against the council members who have tarnished the council's reputation through acts such as falsifying official documents and registering false addresses."
