포항시 의정회가 운영하는 지방자치학교의 초청으로 진행된 이번 특강에서 이강덕 시장은 오늘보다 더 안전한 내일을 만들기 위한 △민생방역 모델도시 구축, 경제활성화를 위한 △배터리 선도도시 구축 △바이오산업 생태계 조성 및 해양문화관광 기반 조성, 더 깨끗하고 쾌적한 도시 조성을 위한 △ ‘Green Way’ 자연 생태공간의 재구성 등 안전, 경제, 환경 3대 핵심과제에 대해 시민의 눈높이에 맞춰 강의했다.

또한 진정한 지방자치를 통한 지속가능한 도시 조성의 핵심은 시민임을 강조하며 “앞으로 지방자치학교 수료생 및 수강생들이 선도적인 역할을 수행해 줄 것”을 당부했다.

한편, 올해 개교 20주년을 맞는 포항시 의정회 지방자치학교는 10월 20일부터 오는 12월 29일까지 매주 화·목 총 25강에 걸쳐 지방자치제도와 사회, 역사, 경제, 건강, 세무, 재테크 등 다양한 강좌를 진행하고 있다.
