경북교육청이 지원에 나선 고교학점제는 진로·적성에 따라 다양한 과목을 선택 이수하고, 누적 학점이 이수기준에 도달한 경우 졸업을 인정하는 제도로 오는 2025년 모든 일반고에 전면 도입될 예정이다.

경북교육청은 경북형 고교학점제 일반화 모델을 육성하고 우수사례를 현장에 확산하기 위해 연구학교 8교, 선도학교 52교를 운영한다고 밝혔으며 지난해 학점제형 연구·선도학교 운영 26교 운영에서 올해는 60교로 수를 늘려 130% 확대 운영하는 것으로 확인된다.

연구학교 운영 기간은 지정 후 3년간이고 선도학교는 2025년 학점제 전면 적용까지 지속 운영한다.

또한 오는 2024년까지 일반고 전체를 경북형 고교학점제 연구·선도학교로 100% 지정 운영함으로써 학점제 궤도 안착에 적극적으로 지원할 예정으로 경북형 고교학점제 연구·선도학교는 학점제형 모델 창출을 위해 특화된 교육과정을 운영하고 핵심과제를 수행한다.

중점과제는 교육과정 이수 지도팀 구성, 교육과정 박람회 개최로 선택과목 안내, 개인별 수강 시간표 운영, 체계적 학업 설계 지도, 진로 맞춤형 선택과목 수업 개선, 협력적 학교 문화 형성, 학점제형 학습 공간 재구조화 등이다.

아울러 경북교육청은 경북형 고교학점제 안착을 위해 에듀테크 선도고교에 3억 원, 온라인 공동교육 거점센터에 4억 원을 지원했으며, 학점제형 온라인 스튜디오 및 가변형·다목적 학습 공간 조성에도 3억 6000만 원을 지원한다. 

또한 고교학점제 선도지구(구미,예천) 지원 사업에도 지난해에 이어 내년까지 약 60억 원을 지원할 예정이다.
