‘기초생활거점 조성사업’은 면소재지에 중심지 기능을 보완하여 기초생활인프라를 구축하고 낙후된 기반시설을 확충하는 사업으로, 김천시는 향후 4년 동안대항면에는 복지회관 건립과 다목적광장 조성 등을, 증산면에는 행정복합센터(행정복지센터+복지회관) 건립 등에 각각 40억과 75.5억을 연차적으로 투입하여사업을 추진할 계획이다.

김천시는 이번 공모사업 선정으로 민선8기 출범과 동시에 농촌지역개발에 확실한 추진 동력이 확보된 셈이다.

김충섭 김천시장은 “이번 공모사업의 선정으로 농촌 지역에 활력을 불어 넣길 기대하고 있으며, 새롭게 시작되는 민선8기에 중단 없는 김천발전으로 농촌의 경제 활력 제고 및 지역발전에 기여할 것으로 기대되며 김천 농토피아공약이 더욱이 확대 추진될 수 있도록 최선을 다할 계획이다”라고 밝혔다.
