대경대 대학일자리플러스센터는 지난달 23일 산학동 강당에서 미취업 청년들과 진로 및 취업을 앞두고 있는 고등학생들을 대상으로 지역 청년 거버넌스 진로 체험 및 취업역량강화 프로그램을 개최했다.

해당 프로그램은 어렵고 힘들게만 느껴지는 진로 및 취업에 대해 고민하는 미취업 청년과 고등학교 졸업예정자들에게 컨설턴트와의 상담과 직업 체험 등을 제공하여 진로 설정에 도움을 주고자 마련되었다.

이에 대학은 교내 동물사육복지과 및 경북경영자총협회영천사무소 등 학과와 유관기관의 거버넌스 협업을 통해 진로 체험 및 취업역량강화 특강을 진행하고 사육사 체험, 진로·취업 상담, 국민취업지원제도 참여 안내 등 청년들을 위한 다양한 고용 정책도 알아볼 수 있는 소중한 시간을 가졌다고 전했다.

대경대학교 이채영 총장은 “이번 프로그램을 통해 미취업 청년들과 진로와 취업에 고민이 많은 청소년들을 위한 다양한 서비스 지원을 위해 최선을 다 하겠다”고 말했다. 관심 있는 분야의 전문가들에게 듣는 현장의 실무 경험과 현장 체험으로 진로 및 취업의 고민을 같이 나눌 수 있는 시간을 자주 가질 수 있도록 지속적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다고”고 밝혔다.
