지난 15일 대경대학교는 경산시, 호산대학교와 협약을 체결하여 고등직업교육거점지구 정착을 위한 거버넌스 구축 및 운영, 지역특화분야 선정 및 교육과정 개편을 통한 인재양성, 지역사회 평생직업교육 고도화, 지역 내 현안 해결 프로그램 수행 등을 위해 협력할 것을 약속했다고 덧붙였다.

교육부가 주관하는 고등직업교육거점지구 사업은 전문대와 기초자치단체가 협력해 청년 인재의 지역 정착을 위한 맞춤형 교육과정을 운영하는 것으로 이를 통해 지역 일자리 창출과 지역 발전 역량을 강화하면서 지역 사회 혁신을 도모하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

대경대학교 이채영 총장은 “본 협약으로 각 기관이 보유하고 있는 인적, 물적 자원의 상호 교류 협력을 통해 지역의 산업 발전과 지역사회 공헌에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대한다.”면서 “하이브 사업 선정을 목표로 하여 지역경제 활성화에 기여하도록 노력하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
