지난 2일 대구텍스타일콤플렉스(이하 DTC) 308호 회의실에서 체결된 이번 협약은  국내 패션과 모델산업의 미래지향적인 발전과 산학협력 활성화를 도모하기 위해 마련되었다.

협약을 통해 양 기관은 유기적 협력관계를 더욱 강화하고 공동 노력과 함께 ▲전문인력 양성을 위한 교육과정 개발 및 추진 ▲현장실습 및 인턴십 참여 ▲신규직원 채용시 대경대학교 졸업생 채용(우대) 협력 ▲양 기관의 인적자원과 보유시설의 공동이용에 관한 사항 ▲기타 상호발전을 위한 적극적인 협력을 약속했다.

이날 대구경북섬유직물공업협동조합 이석기 이사장은 “이번 MOU 체결은 지역 대학을 졸업하는 우수한 패션·모델산업 인력들이 현장에서 활동하며 취업 및 창업 할 수 있도록 상호 협력하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다.”면서 “아울러 패션산업과 모델산업을 선도 할 수 있는 글로벌 인재 양성과 기회 창출 등 모델과, 모델학과 재학생들과 졸업생들을 위한 공간으로 DTC 전시실 및 다목적 홀을 지원하게 된 것을 기쁘게 생각한다.”고 말했다.
