【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=한국건강관리협회(회장 김인원, 이하 건협)이희귀‧난치성질환 환우들을 위해 의료비 1억 원을 전달했다고 23일 밝혔다.

지난 21일, 본회 추담홀에서 진행된 행사에는 건협 이은희 사무총장, 한국희귀·난치성질환연합회 정진향 사무총장 등이 참석한 가운데 희귀·난치성질환으로 고통 받는 환우들을 위한 의료비 1억 원이 한국희귀·난치성질환연합회에 전달되었다.

전달된 의료비는 고가의 의료비 부담 및 장기 치료로 인한 환우 및 가족들의 실질적 어려움을 완화하고 건강증진을 돕는 데 사용될 예정이다. 

한국희귀·난치성질환연합회 ‘국내 연도별 희귀의약품(신약) 허가 및 급여 현황’에 따르면 지난 2011년부터 2020년까지 시판된 희귀의약품은 총 127개이며, 그중 보험에 등재된 의약품은 56%(71개)에 불과하다.

또한 희귀질환별 대상질환 인정 적용기준이 높아 여전히 보험혜택을 받지 못하는 환자도 다수에 달한다.

건협은 이러한 의료사각지대 해소를 위해 지난 2018년을 시작으로 희귀․난치성질환자를 위해 4년째 총 3억 5천만 원의 후원금을 전달하며 따뜻한 나눔을 이어가고 있다.

건협 이은희 사무총장은 “이번 후원을 통해 희귀·난치성질환 환우들이 조금이나마 마음의 짐을 덜고, 건강하게 회복했으면 한다. 앞으로도 의료 사각지대 해소 및 환우·가족들의 건강증진을 위한 다양한 사업을 추진해 갈 예정이다”라고 말했다.

We will continue to promote various projects to address the medical blind spot and improve the health of patients and their families.”
