대구시는 대구테크노파크를 거점으로 올해부터 5년간 시비 총 100억 원을 투입해, 로봇, 반도체, 미래모빌리티, 헬스케어, ABB(인공지능, 빅데이터, 블록체인) 분야의 기술창업기업을 대상으로 매년 13개사를 선정해 기업당 최대 1.5억 원의 연구개발(R&D) 자금을 지원한다.

민간투자연계형 R&D 분야는 창업 후 7년 이내 기업 중, 국내외 민간투자자로부터 1억 원 이상의 투자를 받은 매출액 100억 원 미만의 기업을 대상으로 지원해, 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 대표 스타트업으로 육성할 예정이다.
또 창업초기기업 R&D 분야는 창업 후 5년 이내, 매출액 20억 원 미만의 기업 중, 연구개발을 통해 기술력 향상뿐만 아니라 사업화 성공으로 신제품 출시를 목표로 하는 기업을 대상으로 지원하게 된다.
