【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=경북교육청(교육감 임종식)이 2022학년도 학교급식 식재료 방사능 검사를 실시한 결과 안전기준 적합 판정을 받았다고 밝혔다.

14일 경북교육청은 지난해 도내 모든 급식학교의 방사능 검사 결과 932회 모두 안전기준 적합 판정을 받아 학생과 학부모 모두 안심할 수 있는 먹거리 환경을 마련했다고 전했다.

학교급식 식재료 방사능 검사는 지난 2011년 일본 원전사고 이후 검사는 조리실이 설치된 모든 급식학교에서 급식을 실시하는 3월부터 12월까지 학교별 연 1회 이상 실시하고 있다. 

검사 품목은 수산물을 비롯해 방사능 검출 빈도가 높은 농산물, 가공식품을 대상으로 식약처 지정 시험검사기관에 의뢰하거나 자체 방사능 검사 기기를 통해 식품 중 방사능 오염 여부를 판단하는 요오드, 세슘 2개 항목을 검사한다.

지난해 경북교육청은 도내 급식학교에서 932회의 방사능 검사를 실시하였으며 모두‘안전기준 적합’판정을 받았다. 그중 175건은 검사의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 전문기관(농수산물검사소, 보건환경연구원)에 정밀검사를 의뢰해 확인했다. 

경북교육청은 지난 2015년‘경상북도교육청 방사능 등 유해물질로부터 안전한 학교급식 식재료 공급에 관한 조례’를 제정하고 식재료를 표본추출(샘플링)해 전문기관에 방사능 검사를 실시했으나, 2021학년도부터는 모든 교육지원청에 방사능 검사기기 배치하고 관계 공무원 교육을 통해 모든 학교를 대상으로 방사능 검사를 실시하고 있다. 

임종식 교육감은 “일본 후쿠시마 원전 오염수 방류계획으로 인한 학생·학부모의 불안감을 해소하고, 학생들에게 보다 안전하고 질 높은 학교급식을 제공하기 위해 식재료에 대한 방사능 전수검사를 추진하고 있다.”며 “학교급식 안전 관리를 위해 앞으로도 더욱 꼼꼼하고 철저하게 살피겠다.”고 말했다.
