【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자= 대구 동구청(구청장 윤석준)이 봄철 강한 자외선으로부터 보행자를 보호하고, 이른 더위에 대비하기 위해 스마트 그늘막을 조기 설치한다고 29일 밝혔다.
작년 4월 초순에 대구ㆍ경북 지역의 기온이 30도 가까이 오른 점을 고려해 폭염대책기간보다 50일 일찍 운영하는 것으로 선제적으로 대처하기 위해 마련됐다.
동구청은 2018년부터 매년 주요 횡단보도 및 교통섬에 총 80여개의 스마트 그늘막을 설치해 운영 중에 있다. 올해는 신암동, 안심 일원 등에 6개를 추가 설치하는 등 강렬한 햇볕으로부터 보행자를 보호하고 있다.
윤석준 동구청장은 “코로나를 성공적으로 극복한 주민들의 봄나들이에 조금이나마 도움이 됨과 동시에 안전하게 여름을 지낼 수 있도록 최선을 다해 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
