제105회 전국체육대회가 오는 17일까지 경상남도 김해시를 비롯한 18개 시군에서 개최된다.

경북도에서는 육상과 하키, 핸드볼, 소프트테니스 등의 종목에서 금메달 40개와 은메달 31개, 동메달 49개 등 총 120개의 메달 획득을 목표로 고등부 선수단 79교 636명(임원 95명, 선수 541명)이 참가한다.

사전경기로 진행된 태권도 종목에서 여고부 공인품새에 출전한 상모고등학교 2학년 서채원 학생, 남고부 겨루기 -58kg급에 출전한 경북체육고등학교 3학년 이예성 학생, -74kg급에 출전한 경북체육고등학교 2학년 박재원이 금메달을 획득했고, -80kg급의 포항영신고등학교 3학년 강성범 학생이 동메달을 획득하며 메달 사냥에 시동을 걸었다. 

단체종목에서는 하키 여고부의 성주여자고등학교가 8강에서 대구 강동고를 상대로 승리를 거두며 준결승에 진출했다.

임종식 교육감은 “열심히 준비한 학생 선수와 지도자의 노력이 결실을 볼 수 있도록 최선을 다해 응원하겠다”며 “학생 선수들이 꿈을 이룰 수 있도록 안전한 대회 참가를 위해 적극 지원하겠다”라고 말했다.

In the Taekwondo event held as a pre-game, Sangmo High School 2nd year student Seo Chae-won, who competed in the girls’ high school official poomsae, Gyeongbuk Physical Education High School 3rd year student Lee Ye-seong, who competed in the boys’ high school -58kg class, and Gyeongbuk Physical Education High School 2nd year student Park Jae-won, who competed in the -74kg class, won gold medals, and Pohang Youngshin High School 3rd year student Kang Seong-beom, who competed in the -80kg class, won bronze medals, kicking off the medal hunt.

In the team event, Seongju Girls’ High School, a girls’ hockey team, won against Daegu Gangdong High School in the quarterfinals and advanced to the semifinals.

Superintendent Lim Jong-sik said, “I will do my best to cheer so that the hard work of the students and coaches can bear fruit,” and “I will actively support the students to participate in the competition safely so that they can achieve their dreams.”
