경북교육청(교육감 임종식) 선수단은 전국체육대회 102년 역사 이래 최고 성적(종전 제97회 금메달 35개)을 달성했다.

경북교육청 선수단은 이번 대회에서 금메달 43개, 은메달 38개, 동메달 56개, 합계 137개로 대회를 마무리했다.

이는 평소 단위 학교, 도교육청, 경북체육회의 협조 체제 및 학교자율체육활동, 경북학생체육대회를 통한 우수선수 발굴과 체육기반 시설 확충, 노후장비 교체 및 과학화 장비 도입, 지역별 특성화 종목 연계 육성의 결과로 보여진다.
