달성군은 24일 한국공공자치연구원이 주관한 ‘민선지방자치 30년 지역경쟁력 평가’에서 환경안전 경쟁력 부문 최우수기관 인증을 받았다고 밝혔다. 이번 평가는 전국 226개 지방자치단체를 대상으로 진행됐으며, 한국지방자치경쟁력지수(KLCI) 데이터를 바탕으로 이뤄졌다.

한국지방자치경쟁력지수는 지난 1996년부터 매년 전국 기초자치단체를 대상으로 ▷경영자원 ▷경영활동 ▷경영성과 등 3대 부문을 종합 분석해 산출되는 지표다. 올해는 인구, 재정, 지역경제, 건강문화, 환경안전 등 5개 분야를 10년 단위(2005·2015·2025)로 총 53개 정량 지표를 기준으로 평가가 이뤄졌다.

달성군은 ‘환경안전’ 부문에서 67.74점을 기록하며 전국 평균(50.25점)은 물론, 군 단위 평균(44.59점)과 대구시 평균(58.47점)을 크게 웃도는 성과를 나타냈다. 특히 이는 전국 82개 군 단위 지자체 중 가장 높은 점수로, 단연 1위에 해당한다.

이 같은 성과는 달성군이 산업단지의 안전관리 강화, 친환경 기반시설 확충, 재난 예방체계 고도화 등 환경과 안전을 최우선으로 삼아 꾸준히 정책을 추진한 결과로 풀이된다.

최재훈 달성군수는 “이번 수상은 군민과 행정이 함께 이뤄낸 값진 성과”라며, “달성군이 지속가능한 도시로 성장하고 있다는 사실을 다시 한 번 입증했다. 앞으로도 군민이 안심하고 살아갈 수 있는 환경 조성을 위해 더욱 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

Dalseong-gun, Daegu (Governor Choi Jae-hoon) was selected as the best organization in the ‘Environmental Safety’ category by taking 1st place nationwide in the regional competitiveness evaluation conducted to commemorate the 30th anniversary of local autonomy.

Dalseong-gun announced on the 24th that it received certification as the best organization in the environmental safety competitiveness category in the ‘Regional Competitiveness Evaluation of 30 Years of Local Autonomy’ hosted by the Korea Institute for Public Administration. This evaluation was conducted on 226 local governments nationwide and was based on data from the Korea Local Autonomy Competitiveness Index (KLCI).

The Korea Local Autonomy Competitiveness Index is an index calculated by comprehensively analyzing three major sectors: ▷Management Resources ▷Management Activities ▷Management Performance for basic local governments nationwide every year since 1996. This year, the evaluation was conducted based on a total of 53 quantitative indicators in 5 fields including population, finance, regional economy, health and culture, and environment and safety, with a 10-year period (2005, 2015, and 2025).

Dalseong-gun recorded 67.74 points in the ‘environment and safety’ category, significantly exceeding the national average (50.25 points), the county-level average (44.59 points), and the Daegu City average (58.47 points). In particular, this is the highest score among the 82 county-level local governments nationwide, ranking first by far.

This achievement is interpreted as the result of Dalseong-gun consistently pursuing policies that prioritize the environment and safety, such as strengthening safety management in industrial complexes, expanding eco-friendly infrastructure, and improving disaster prevention systems.
