달성군은 참여자 만족도 4.6점(5점 만점)을 기록한 ‘통학형 교과 연계 코딩캠프’를 이달부터 본격 운영한다고 밝혔다. 해당 프로그램은 초등학교 코딩 교육 의무화에 대응해 교육 현장의 수요를 반영한 교육발전특구 사업의 일환으로 추진된다.
이번 코딩캠프는 달성중학교 학교복합시설인 달성이룸캠프를 거점으로, 관내 초등학교 4~6학년 학생을 대상으로 운영된다. 정규 교과 과정과 연계한 코딩 실습에 더해 지역 모빌리티 산업현장 탐방을 결합한 것이 특징이다.
군은 블록코딩 기반 인공지능(AI) 교구와 기상·환경 등 교과 내용을 접목한 맞춤형 교육을 제공해 교육 격차를 해소하고 공교육 부담을 완화할 계획이다. 동시에 지역 산업과 연계한 체험형 교육을 통해 미래 인재 육성 기반을 강화한다는 방침이다.
특히 지난해 큰 호응을 얻었던 ‘원데이 가족캠프’와 ‘달성 미래놀이터’는 올해부터 ‘주말 과학 집중캠프’로 분리·확대 운영된다. 모집 인원과 운영 기간을 늘려 더 많은 군민이 참여할 수 있도록 했다.
달성군은 코딩캠프와 주말 과학 집중캠프를 연계해 학생뿐 아니라 가족 단위 참여까지 아우르는 지역 특화 교육 문화를 조성할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
최재훈 군수는 “코딩캠프를 비롯해 DGIST 창의학교, 청소년 해외 우주 과학캠프 등 다양한 프로그램을 지속 확대해 미래 과학인재 양성에 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

The county plans to bridge the educational gap and alleviate the burden on public education by providing customized education that integrates block-coding-based artificial intelligence (AI) teaching aids with curriculum content such as weather and the environment. At the same time, the county intends to strengthen the foundation for nurturing future talent through experiential education linked to local industries.
In particular, the ‘One-Day Family Camp’ and ‘Dalseong Future Playground,’ which received a great response last year, will be separated and expanded into the ‘Weekend Science Intensive Camp’ starting this year. The number of participants and the duration of the program have been increased to allow more county residents to participate.
Dalseong County expects to foster a regionally specialized educational culture that encompasses not only students but also family participation by linking the Coding Camp with the Weekend Science Intensive Camp.
County Governor Choi Jae-hoon stated, “We will strive to nurture future scientific talent by continuously expanding various programs, including the Coding Camp, the DGIST Creative School, and the Youth Overseas Space Science Camp.”
