【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청(교육감 임종식)은 여름방학 기간 동안 기초학력 책임교육 강화를 위해 ‘학습도약 계절학기’를 운영하고, 학교 현장 지원을 위한 ‘책임교육학년 지원 사업’ 컨설팅을 실시한다고 25일 밝혔다.

‘학습도약 계절학기’는 초등 3학년과 중등 1학년 학생 중 학습 지원이 필요한 학생과 기초학력 미달 우려 학생을 대상으로 한다. 

본격적인 교과 학습이 시작되는 중요한 시기에 학습 공백을 채우고 기초를 탄탄히 다지는 맞춤형 보충 프로그램이다.

각 학교는 국어, 수학 등 주요 과목의 보충 수업과 함께 학생의 학습 의욕을 높이고 정서적 안정을 돕는 다양한 특별 프로그램을 운영한다. 독서 활동, 자기 주도 학습 코칭, 또래 협력 활동 등으로 학생의 사회·정서 역량도 함께 키워 나간다.

더불어 경북교육청은 방학 기간 중 ‘책임교육학년 지원 사업’의 내실 있는 운영을 위해 교육지원청 중심의 중간 컨설팅을 진행한다. 이 사업은 초등 3학년과 중등 1학년을 책임교육 학년으로 지정해 기초학력 향상을 집중 지원하는 사업이다.

맞춤형 교과 보충 프로그램, 정규 수업과 방과 후 교과 보충, 가정 내 학습 관리를 연계한 맞춤형 튜터링, 방학 중 수준별 학습 지원을 위한 계절학기 등 세 가지로 나뉜다.

컨설팅은 학교 자체 점검과 교육지원청의 현장 지원, 사업 실효성 분석과 개선에 초점을 맞춘다. 이를 통해 학교 운영 상황을 세밀히 파악하고 학생 맞춤형 학습 지원이 효과적으로 이루어지도록 돕는다.

각 교육지원청과 학교는 운영 과정에서 도출된 우수 사례를 공유하고 부족한 부분을 보완해 ‘책임교육학년’ 제도의 현장 정착과 정책 완성도를 높일 계획이다.

임종식 교육감은 “방학 중에도 학생들이 배움의 끈을 놓지 않도록 맞춤형 지원을 강화하는 것은 매우 중요한 일”이라며 “경북교육청은 학생들이 즐겁고 의미 있게 학습을 이어갈 수 있도록 교육 공동체와 함께 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
