이 표창은 공공데이터 개방 확대와 민간 활용 활성화를 통해 데이터 기반 디지털정부 혁신에 기여한 기관을 발굴·격려하고, 우수사례를 공유·확산하기 위해 매년 실시된다.

한국교육학술정보원은 유·초·중등 정보공시, 학술연구정보서비스(RISS), 에듀넷 등 20여 개 서비스에서 데이터 분석·활용 역량 강화, 데이터 기반 행정 적용, 체계적인 조직 운영에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

올해는 전국 중앙부처, 지방자치단체, 공공기관을 대상으로 공공데이터 개방률, 데이터 품질관리 수준, 활용 촉진 성과, 혁신사례 확산 노력 등을 종합 평가했으며, 총 23개 기관이 수상 명단에 올랐다. 특히 ‘공공데이터 제공 운영실태 평가’와 ‘데이터기반행정 실태점검’ 부문에서 전년 대비 향상도가 큰 기관이 높은 점수를 받았다. 교육부 산하 공공기관 중에서는 한국교육학술정보원이 데이터기반행정 실태점검 부문에서 탁월한 성과를 인정받아 수상했다.

정제영 원장은 “이번 수상은 교육 분야 공공데이터 개방과 데이터 기반 행정 실현을 위해 지속적으로 노력해온 결과”라며 “앞으로도 국민 누구나 교육 관련 공공데이터에 쉽게 접근하고 활용할 수 있는 환경을 조성해 교육행정 혁신을 선도하겠다”고 말했다.

Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS) Selected as an Outstanding Institution for Digital Government Innovation

The KERIS (President Jeong Je-young) was selected as an Outstanding Institution for Digital Government Innovation (Public Data Opening and Utilization) by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) in the "2025 Digital Government Innovation Award (Public Data Opening and Utilization)." The award was presented annually to identify and encourage institutions that have contributed to data-driven digital government innovation through the expansion of public data disclosure and the promotion of private sector utilization, and to share and disseminate best practices.

KERIS received high marks for its enhanced data analysis and utilization capabilities, data-driven administrative application, and systematic organizational management across approximately 20 services, including the Information Disclosure Service for Kindergarten, Primary, and Secondary Schools, the Research Information Service (RISS), and Edunet.

This year, central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions nationwide were comprehensively evaluated for their public data disclosure rates, data quality management, utilization promotion performance, and efforts to disseminate innovative practices. A total of 23 institutions were awarded. In particular, institutions that demonstrated significant improvement compared to the previous year received high scores in the "Public Data Provision and Operation Status Evaluation" and "Data-Based Administration Status Inspection." Among public institutions under the Ministry of Education, the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS) received the award for its outstanding performance in the data-based administration status inspection.

President Jeong Je-young stated, "This award is the result of our continued efforts to open public data in the education sector and realize data-based administration.
