‘K-ESG 경영대상’은 산업통상자원부의 ‘K-ESG 가이드 지표’를 기반으로 ▲환경(Environment) 실천 ▲사회적 가치 창출(Social) ▲지배구조의 건전성(Governance) 수준을 종합 평가해, 공공서비스의 지속가능성과 사회적 환원에 기여한 기관을 선정·시상한다.

케리스는 기관의 중장기 경영전략과 연계한 ESG 전략체계 및 로드맵을 수립하고, 고유 업무와 연계한 실천 과제를 체계적으로 추진해왔다. 특히 지속가능한 경영체계 강화를 위해 환경, 사회, 지배구조 각 영역별 세부 목표를 설정하고 이를 적극 이행 중이다.

우선 친환경 경영과 탄소중립 실천을 위해 유초중등부터 대학학술 영역에 이르는 대국민 교육정보화 시스템을 클라우드 기반으로 전환했다. 이로써 물리 서버 대비 약 80%의 전력 절감 효과를 달성했으며, 불용 전산자원을 사회적 기업과 협업해 학습용 PC로 새활용하여 지역 청소년에게 기부하는 등 생활 속 친환경 캠페인도 지속적으로 추진하고 있다.

또한 케리스는 주요 사업과 연계한 사회적 가치 창출 활동에도 앞장서고 있다. 디지털 교육 도구 분야 중소기업의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 전국 9개 지역(서울, 경기, 강원, 충북, 대구, 부산, 전북, 광주)에 ‘에듀테크 소프트랩’을 운영하며 학교 현장 적합성 제고와 산업 생태계 지원에 기여했다. 아프리카 지역 진출을 지원하며 국내 기업의 글로벌 경쟁력 강화에도 힘을 보탰다.

지역사회에서는 학교 밖 청소년 대상 검정고시 튜터링 및 문화체험 프로그램, 지역 농산물 판로 확대를 위한 지역사랑 기부장터 등 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 전개하고 있다.

기관 운영의 건전성과 투명성 확보를 위해서도 청렴·윤리경영 체계 전면 개선을 추진해 규범준수경영시스템(ISO 37301) 인증을 획득했다. 또한 감사원 주관 자체감사활동 심사에서 5년 연속 A등급을 달성하는 등 지속가능한 책임경영을 실천하고 있다.

First, to promote eco-friendly management and carbon neutrality, the company converted its national education information system, spanning from kindergartens and elementary and middle schools to universities, to a cloud-based system. This achieved approximately 80% energy savings compared to physical servers. To ensure the soundness and transparency of its operations, KERIS has comprehensively improved its integrity and ethics management system and obtained ISO 37301 certification.
