(재)포항테크노파크(원장 송경창, 이하 포항TP)는 기술력과 성장 잠재력을 갖춘 기업을 대상으로 ‘2026년 포항시 유망강소기업’ 참여기업을 신규 모집한다고 밝혔다.

‘포항시 유망강소기업 육성사업’은 성장 가능성이 높은 지역 중소기업을 단계적으로 선정·지원해 지역 산업을 이끌 핵심기업으로 육성하는 포항시 대표 기업지원 프로그램으로, 2015년부터 지속 추진되고 있다.

모집 대상은 포항시에 본사 또는 주사업장을 둔 제조업 및 지식기반 서비스업 분야의 법인 중소기업으로, 매출 규모와 업력 등 일정 요건을 충족해야 한다. 선정은 △예비유망강소기업 △유망강소기업 △우수유망강소기업 등 3단계로 진행되며, 이차전지·바이오헬스·수소·디지털 등 지역 전략산업 분야 기업에는 가점이 부여된다.

접수 기간은 4월 1일부터 17일 오후 3시까지이며, 요건심사와 현장평가, 발표평가, 종합평가 등 4단계 절차를 거쳐 최종 7개사 내외를 선정할 계획이다.

선정 기업에는 맞춤형 기업지원과 경영진단, 성장전략 컨설팅, 전담 PM 1대1 지원, 글로벌 시장 진출 지원, 운전자금 우대 및 세무조사 유예 등 종합적인 지원 프로그램이 제공된다.

포항시와 포항TP는 지금까지 총 122개 기업을 유망강소기업으로 지정·육성해 왔으며, 참여 기업들은 매출 확대와 고용 창출은 물론 정부 인증, 투자 유치, 지식재산권 확보 등 다양한 성과를 거두고 있다.

송경창 원장은 “유망강소기업 육성은 지역 산업 구조 혁신의 출발점”이라며 “AI 전환과 산업 고도화를 기반으로 기업의 성장 가능성을 실질적인 성과로 연결해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Pohang Technopark has set out to discover promising small giant enterprises to strengthen the competitiveness of local SMEs.

Pohang Technopark (President Song Kyung-chang, hereinafter Pohang TP) announced that it is recruiting new participants for the ‘2026 Pohang City Promising Small Giant Enterprise’ program, targeting companies with technological capabilities and growth potential.

The ‘Pohang City Promising Small Giant Enterprise Development Project’ is Pohang City’s representative business support program that has been continuously implemented since 2015. It selects and supports local SMEs with high growth potential in stages to foster them into key companies that will lead the local industry.

Eligible applicants are corporate SMEs in the manufacturing or knowledge-based service sectors with their headquarters or main business location in Pohang City, and must meet certain requirements such as sales volume and business history. The selection process proceeds in three stages: Preliminary Promising Small Giants, Promising Small Giants, and Excellent Promising Small Giants. Additional points will be awarded to companies in regional strategic industries such as secondary batteries, bio-health, hydrogen, and digital technology.

The application period runs from April 1 to April 17 at 3:00 PM. The plan is to select approximately seven final companies through a four-stage process that includes eligibility screening, on-site evaluation, presentation evaluation, and comprehensive evaluation.

Selected companies will be provided with comprehensive support programs, including customized business support, management diagnostics, growth strategy consulting, one-on-one support from dedicated project managers (PMs), assistance with global market entry, preferential treatment for working capital, and deferral of tax audits.

To date, Pohang City and Pohang Technopark have designated and nurtured a total of 122 companies as Promising Small Giants. Participating companies have achieved various results, including increased sales and job creation, as well as government certifications, investment attraction, and securing intellectual property rights. Director Song Kyung-chang stated, “Fostering promising small giants is the starting point for innovation in the regional industrial structure,” adding, “We will translate the growth potential of companies into tangible results based on AI transition and industrial advancement.”
