【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=(재)포항테크노파크(원장 배영호, 이하 포항TP)가 지역 제조기업의 스마트공장 도입 확대와 디지털 전환 촉진을 위해 마련한 ‘스마트공장 우수기업 현장학습’이 지난 7월 22일 성공적으로 마무리됐다.

이번 현장학습은 중소벤처기업부와 중소기업기술정보진흥원이 지원하는 ‘스마트제조혁신센터 운영사업’의 일환으로, 경북창조경제혁신센터의 ‘스마트팩토리 아카데미’와 연계해 경북 칠곡에 위치한 선박용 엔진 부품 제조업체 ㈜디에스티에서 개최됐다.

이날 행사에는 포항 지역 중소기업 관계자 15명이 참여해 ▲스마트공장 구축 사례와 효과 ▲추진 과정에서의 유의사항 ▲유지관리 전략 등에 대한 강의를 들었으며, ▲현장 혁신활동 ▲공장 레이아웃 설계 및 셋업 등 실무 중심의 교육도 함께 진행됐다. 더불어 ▲스마트팩토리의 기본 개념과 ▲혁신 마인드 함양을 위한 이론 교육도 제공돼 참가자들의 높은 관심을 끌었다.

한 참가 기업 관계자는 “현장에서 스마트공장이 어떻게 운영되고 있는지를 직접 보고 듣는 값진 경험이었다”며, “우리 기업이 스마트공장을 어떻게 도입할지 구체적인 방향을 잡는 데 큰 도움이 됐다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

포항TP는 지난 2019년부터 ‘포항스마트제조혁신센터’를 운영하며 지역 중소·중견 제조기업 93곳의 스마트공장 구축을 지원해 왔다. 아울러 다양한 설명회와 전문 교육을 통해 기업들의 디지털 전환 인식 제고에도 앞장서고 있다. 이 같은 노력의 결실로 포항TP는 최근 전국 스마트제조혁신센터 운영 성과 평가에서 최고 등급인 A등급을 획득하며, 지역 제조혁신의 핵심기관으로 입지를 다졌다.

배영호 포항TP 원장은 “이번 현장학습은 단순한 견학을 넘어 실제 스마트공장을 운영 중인 기업의 생생한 사례를 통해 참여 기업들이 디지털 전환의 실행 방안을 현실적으로 체감할 수 있는 기회가 되었을 것”이라며, “앞으로도 스마트공장 구축 시 중소기업 입장에서 필요한 노하우와 전략을 공유함으로써, 지역 기업들이 실질적인 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Pohang Technopark, Smart Factory Excellent Company Field Study Completed… Driving Digital Transformation of Local Manufacturing Companies

The ‘Smart Factory Excellent Company Field Study’ organized by Pohang Technopark (Director Bae Young-ho, hereinafter Pohang TP) to expand the introduction of smart factories and promote digital transformation of local manufacturing companies was successfully concluded on July 22.

This field study was held as part of the ‘Smart Manufacturing Innovation Center Operation Project’ supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency, and was held at DST Co., Ltd., a marine engine parts manufacturer located in Chilgok, Gyeongbuk, in conjunction with the ‘Smart Factory Academy’ of the Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center.

15 SME officials from the Pohang area participated in the event and listened to lectures on ▲Smart Factory Construction Cases and Effects ▲Things to Note in the Promotion Process ▲Maintenance Strategies, etc., and practical training was also conducted, such as ▲On-site Innovation Activities ▲Factory Layout Design and Setup. In addition, ▲the basic concept of smart factories and ▲theory education for fostering an innovative mindset were also provided, attracting great interest from participants.

An official from a participating company said, “It was a valuable experience to see and hear directly how smart factories are operated in the field,” and “It was a great help in setting a specific direction for how our company will introduce smart factories.”

Pohang TP has been operating the ‘Pohang Smart Manufacturing Innovation Center’ since 2019 and has supported the construction of smart factories for 93 local small and medium-sized manufacturing companies. In addition, it is taking the lead in raising awareness of digital transformation among companies through various briefing sessions and specialized training. As a result of these efforts, Pohang TP recently received the highest grade, Grade A, in the national smart manufacturing innovation center operation performance evaluation, solidifying its position as a key organization for regional manufacturing innovation.

Pohang TP Director Bae Young-ho said, “This field trip went beyond a simple tour and provided an opportunity for participating companies to realistically experience implementation plans for digital transformation through vivid examples of companies that are actually operating smart factories.” He added, “We will continue to actively support local companies to secure real competitiveness by sharing the know-how and strategies necessary for small and medium-sized enterprises when building smart factories.”
