황순규 진보당 대구시당 위원장이 18일 대구 동구의원 출마를 선언하고 예비후보 등록을 마쳤다.

이번 지방선거 동구의원 예비후보 등록자로는 처음으로, 선거구는 동구 바(안심3동, 안심4동, 혁신동)다.

황순규 위원장은 지난 2010년 지방선거에 민주노동당 소속으로 대구 동구의원으로 출마, 당시 대구 최연소로 당선된 바 있다. 

구의원 임기동안 '어린이공원, 놀이터 관리 조례' 제정을 비롯해 '작은도서관', '장난감도서관' 건립 촉구 등 보육 환경 개선에 중점을 둔 의정활동을 펼쳤다. 

또한 '관급공사 체불임금 방지 조례' 제정, '민간위탁 관리 감독 강화' 등 노동권 개선, 관행적인 예산 운영에 제동을 거는 등 다양한 분야에서 실질적인 개선을 일궈냈다.

황순규 위원장은 "당시 16명 중 한 명에 불과했지만, 진보정당 구의원으로 해야 할 일들이 많았었다."며 "그간 원외에 있으면서도 불필요한 지방의원들의 해외연수 예산을 삭감하고, 순세계잉여금이 묵혀지지 않도록 주민의견을 반영하는 등 주민편에서 동구의 살림살이를 챙겨왔다. 이번 선거에서 동구 활력의 중심인 안심, 혁신도시 지역에서부터 역동적인 변화를 이끌어 내겠다."고 포부를 밝혔다.
