국민의힘 권오섭 대구 남구청장 예비후보가 조재구 후보를 대구시선거관리위원회에 고발한 뒤 “네거티브를 중단하고 깨끗하고 공정한 정책 선거전을 펼치자”고 제안했다.
권오섭 예비후보는 30일 자신의 페이스북을 통해 “가뜩이나 코로나19 장기화에 따른 경기 불황으로 온 국민들이 큰 어려움을 겪으면서 6·1 지방선거에 대한 관심이 낮은데 네거티브는 정치 불신감만 키울 수 있다”며 이 같이 밝혔다.
이어 “남구 발전의 비전을 제대로 제시하지 못하는 ‘알맹이(정책) 없는 선거전’은 후보는 물론 주민들에게도 전혀 도움이 되지 않는다”며 “지난 4년간 부족한 점이 있으면 솔직하게 인정하고 새로운 비전을 제시해야 될 것”이라고 덧붙였다.
권 후보는 또 “관권 선거 등을 비롯해 곳곳에서 터져 나오고 있는 의혹을 규명하기 위해 지지자들의 요청에 따라 지난 29일 조재구 후보를 대구시선관위에 고발했다”며 “허위사실 유포, 명예훼손 등 불법선거에 대한 선관위의 철저한 수사와 엄중한 처벌을 기대한다”고 촉구했다.
권오섭 예비후보는 “국민의힘 경선이 얼마 남지 않았지만 나부터 아름다운 정책 선거에 모범을 보이겠다”며 “네거티브가 더 이상 뿌리를 내릴 수 없다는 것을 이번 선거를 통해 보여주겠다”고 강조했다.
