【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대한민국시장·군수·구청장협의회가 22일 전남 장흥군 통합의학컨벤션센터에서 ‘민선8기 3차년도 제3차 공동회장단회의’를 개최했다.

조재구 대표회장은 “지방은 국가 재난과 정치 혼란 상황에서도 중추 역할을 해왔다”며 “지방자치분권 확대를 위한 대선 공약 과제를 발표하게 됐다”고 밝혔다.

협의회는 건의문을 통해 “중앙집중 구조를 탈피하고 실질적인 지방분권을 실현해야 한다”고 강조했다. 아울러 “제21대 대통령 선거가 지방자치의 전환점이 되어야 한다”며, 여야 정당과 후보들에게 구체적인 지방분권 정책 제시를 요청했다.

제안된 주요 공약 과제는 지방분권형 헌법 개정 추진, 보통교부세 교부율 5% 인상 및 지방소멸대응기금 5조 원 확대, 유보통합 및 통합돌봄 관련 재원의 국가 전액 부담 등이다.

회의에서는 최근 울산, 경북, 경남 지역에서 발생한 대형 산불 대응 관련 개선 과제도 논의됐다.

협의회는 인명과 재산 피해를 줄이기 위한 방안으로 ▲AI 등 첨단기술 활용, ▲산불 대응체계 고도화, ▲감시 시스템 확대 등을 시급한 개선 과제로 제시했다. 아울러 시군구 차원의 대응 역량 강화를 위해 관련 정책 개선을 적극 추진할 계획이다.
