【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=대구시는 21일 지엠테크니컬센터코리아(이하 GMTCK)에서 ‘대구 자동차부품기업 테크쇼’를 단독 개최했다고 밝혔다.
GMTCK는 제너럴모터스(이하 GM)의 차량개발을 담당하는 연구개발 법인으로 국내 사업장에 3천명 이상의 우수한 엔지니어를 보유하고 있으며 GM의 미래 모빌리티 기술개발에 중추적인 역할을 담당하고 있다.
이번 테크쇼는 ‘대구 미래차전환 종합지원센터’ 지원사업의 일환으로 진행됐으며, 러시아 전쟁 장기화와 최근 미국의 인플레이션 감축법 통과 등 자동차부품기업을 둘러싼 대외 리스크가 고조됨에 따라 당면한 위기를 극복하고자 마련됐다.
특히, 지역 자동차부품업계의 경우 국내 완성차기업에 대한 의존도가 높아 위기 극복을 위해서는 수요처 다변화가 필수이다.
이에 대구시와 ‘대구 미래차전환 종합지원센터’는 글로벌 완성차 연구소 대상으로 테크쇼를 기획하게 됐으며, 그 첫 사례로 GMTCK와 함께 협업하게 됐다.
테크쇼에는 평화홀딩스, 구영테크, 오대금속, 거양금속 등 지역 자동차부품기업을 비롯해 자동차 소프트웨어를 전문으로 하는 드림에이스, 코드마인드 등이 참가했으며, ‘대구 미래차전환 종합지원센터’는 이번 테크쇼가 향후 참여기업들의 부품 납품, 계약 성사 등의 성과로 이어질 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원할 계획이다.
이승대 대구시 혁신성장실장은 “미래차로의 전환이 가속화되면서 지역 자동차 부품업계는 다양한 위기에 직면해 있다”며, “이번 테크쇼가 당면한 위기 극복의 계기가 될 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.
