16일 필리핀 안티케 대학의 파블로 크레스포 주니어(Pablo S. Crespo Jr.) 총장을 비롯한 9명의 총장단이 해외교육실습 등 교류 협력 확대를 위해 대구대 경산캠퍼스를 찾았다.

이날 필리핀 안티케 대학 총장단은 대구대 박순진 총장을 만나 양 대학 간 교류 활성화에 대해 논의했고 접견 후 교육실습 참가 학생 면담과 특수교육 관련 시설 투어 등을 이어갔다.

대구대는 지난해 국립국제교육원이 주관하는 ‘교원해외파견사업 단기해외교육봉사 운영대학’에 선정돼 필리핀 안티케 대학과 비대면 해외교육실습을 진행했다.

대구대는 사범대학 차정호 교수(화학교육과)의 주도로 10년 넘게 필리핀 현지에서 교육봉사를 이어온 것으로 알려진다.

특히 지난 2월 코로나19로 인해 해외 현지 봉사가 어려운 상황에도 대구대 봉사단 학생 17명은 온라인으로 필리핀 안티케(Antique) 지역 2개 초등학교 학생들에게 한국어 및 한국문화 수업, 과학체험활동 등 교육봉사를 펼치며 교류를 이어오고 있다.

박순진 대구대 총장은 “대구대 학생들이 해외 견문을 넓히고 글로벌 무대에서 경쟁력을 갖춘 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 해외 대학과의 협력 네트워크를 확대해 나가겠다.”고 말했다.
