【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구대학교(총장 박순진)가 사범대학 학생들의 필리핀 초등학생들을 위한 온라인 교육봉사 실시 소식을 전했다.

대구대는 지난 13일부터 22일까지 필리핀 안티케대학교(University of Antique)와 연계하여 현지 2개 초등학교 학생을 대상으로 한 융합교육 캠프를 진행했다고 23일 밝혔다.

지난 2011년 시작된 필리핀 현지 교육봉사는 코로나19로 인해 현지 방문이 어려워지면서 2021년부터는 온라인 수업 방식으로 전환되어 실시되었다.

안티케대학교와는 작년에 이어 두 번째 협력 활동으로 지난해 11월에는 총장을 비롯한 교직원 10여 명이 대구대를 방문해 향후 협력 방안을 논의하기도 했다.

대구대 ‘어벤져스(DU Avengers)’ 봉사단 학생들은 온라인 수업의 특성을 감안해 현지에서 구하기 쉬운 재료를 활용한 과학과 문화예술 수업을 기획하고 안티케대학교의 예비교사들과 협력 수업을 진행했다.

류현주 학생(초등특수교육과)은 “언어와 온라인이라는 소통의 방식으로 인해 수업을 준비하면서 많은 어려움이 있었지만 다른 선생님들과 함께 준비하며 많은 것을 배우고 성장할 수 있었던 시간이었다.”고 말했다.

이번 봉사단을 이끈 대구대 차정호 교수(화학교육과)는 “올해는 재정적인 지원이 여의치 않아 교육봉사를 운영하는 데 쉽지 않은 환경이었지만 학생들의 열정과 현지 대학의 협력으로 무사히 마칠 수 있었다.”면서 “앞으로도 이러한 활동이 국제 교육 협력의 좋은 사례가 될 수 있도록 더욱 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.

Daegu University Professor Cha Jeong-ho (Department of Chemistry Education), who led the volunteer group, said, "This year, it was not an easy environment to run educational volunteers because of lack of financial support. We will do our best to make these activities a good example of international educational cooperation.”
