【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=대구 최초의 독자 연구원인 '대구정책연구원'이 출범했다고 대구시가 1일 밝혔다.
시에 다르면 이날 행사에는 홍준표 대구시장, 이만규 대구시의회 의장을 비롯해 박양호 초대 원장, 홍원화 경북대 총장, 신일희 계명대 총장, 국양 디지스트 총장, 대구정책연구원 직원 등 50여 명이 참석했다.
대구시는 지난해 12월 '대구정책연구원 설립 및 운영 조례'를 제정한 후 원장 공모 절차를 마쳤으며, 지난달 25일 행정안전부에서 대구정책연구원 법인 설립 허가를 받았다.
대구정책연구원은 대구미래 50년 핵심과제의 계획과 실행을 뒷받침할 지역에 특화된 싱크탱크로의 역할을 성실히 수행하며, 실제 현실에 적용 가능한 정책을 모색하고 발굴해 나갈 것이다.
박양호 초대 원장은 “작지만 연구역량이 강한 정책연구원으로 조기 정착하기 위해 직원들의 연구역량을 최대한 이끌어 내고 현장 중심의 연구로 지역실정에 맞는 정책개발을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
홍준표 대구시장은 “올해는 대구굴기(大邱崛起)의 원년으로 대구 미래 50년을 힘차게 준비하는 시점으로 대구정책연구원이 지역의 핵심 싱크탱크로서 중추적 역할을 수행하여 대구의 영광과 번영을 재현하는데 앞장서 줄 것을 당부한다”고 말했다.

The Daegu Institute for Policy Studies will faithfully fulfill its role as a regionally specialized think tank that will support the planning and execution of key tasks for the next 50 years in Daegu, and will seek and discover policies that can be applied to actual reality.
Park Yang-ho, the first director, said, “I will do my best to develop policies that fit the local situation through field-oriented research and bring out the research capabilities of the staff to the fullest in order to settle early as a policy researcher with strong research capabilities despite being small.”
Hong Joon-pyo, mayor of Daegu, said, “This year is the first year of Daegu’s rise, and it is the time to prepare vigorously for the next 50 years of Daegu. I beg you to give it to me,” he said.
