【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=더불어민주당 대구시당이 17일 오전 11시, 제8회 전국동시지방선거를 위한 통합선거대책위원회 출범식을 개최했다. 

이날 행사는 윤호중, 박지현 공동 비상대책위원장과 오는 6월 1일 치러질 지방선거에 출마하는 대구지역 후보들이 참석한 가운데 진행되었다.

행사에 참석한 윤호중 비대위원장은 “지방자치 부활 이후에 대구는 국민의힘이 일당 독식해왔고 그 결과 대구가 30년 넘게 낙후의 낙후를 거듭하고 있다.”고 지적했다.

그러면서 “30년 넘는 세월 동안 왜 대구만 발전이 멈췄는지 국민의힘은 대답해야 한다.”고 꼬집었다.

이어 그는 “반면에 저희 민주당은 묵묵히 대구 발전에 뒷받침이 될 만한 일을 하나하나 밀알을 심는 심정으로 해왔다.”고 강조하며 “문재인 정부 5년 동안 대구 지역의 숙원 사업이었던 달빛 내륙철도 사업을 확정했고 또 대구의 물산업 클러스터 준공, k 배터리 산단 착공 등 노력을 해왔고 이제 그 결실을 거둬야 되지 않나 이렇게 생각한다.”며 목소리를 높였다.

윤 위원장은 서재헌 대구시장 후보의 제2 대구의료원 설립 공약을 소개하며 “상대 후보인 홍준표 후보는 경남지사를 하면서 경남 의료원 폐쇄한 경험이 있다. 이제 공공의료도 첨단 의료 산업으로 발전해 나가는 핵으로서 역할을 해야 하는데 오히려 공공의료원을 폐쇄한 그런 경험이 있는 홍준표 후보는 과연 우리 대구의 공공의료를 어떻게 발전시켜 나갈지 의문스럽다.”며 비판했다.

박지현 공동비대위원장은 강민구 수성구청장 후보가 지난 13일 욕설 봉변을 당한 사건을 언급하며 “민주당이라는 이유로 원색적인 언어 폭력을 당했다는 게 너무 참담했다.”고 말했다.

그러면서 “대구에서 민주당 소속으로 정치를 하는 것이 얼마나 무거운 짐을 진 것인지 새삼 깨달았다.”며 “한 방울 한 방울 떨어지는 빗방울에도 저희는 결국 바위는 뚫고 간다. 여기 모이신 모든 후보님 그리고 당원 동지 여러분께서 반세기 동안 이어진 지역주의를 완전히 부수고 이 척박한 대구에 새 희망의 불씨를 반드시 심을 것이라고 저는 굳게 믿는다.”는 응원을 전했다.

아울러 박 위원장은 국민의힘 홍준표 대구시장 후보에 대해 “도대체 언제까지 지역주의의 길에서 대구를 우려먹고 또 우려먹을 작정인가, 대구는 사골국이 아니다.”라며 강하게 비판했다.

He continued, “I realized once again how heavy it is to be a member of the Democratic Party in Daegu.
