더불어민주당은 지난 2월 경북도당 직능위원회(위원장 김경숙)와 교육연수위원회(위원장 임미애)가 코로나 상황을 고려해 화상으로 출범식을 가진데 이어 지난 18일 ‘을지키는민생실천위원회’(위원장 임기진)와 20일 ‘청년위원회’(위원장 권태우)가 경북도당 대회의실에서 출범식을 개최하고 본격 활동에 들어갔다.

앞서 18일 열린 을지키는민생실천위원회에는 진성준 중앙당 전국 을지로위원장이 직접 참석해 열기를 더하였으며 20일 개최된 청년위원회 출범식에는 장세호 경북도당위원장, 이우원 도당 수석부위원장, 김위한 안동예천지역위원장, 정복순(안동시의원) 도당 여성위원장, 권태우 도당 청년위원장을 비롯해 13개 지역위원회 청년위원장과 민지현(상주)·이선우(구미)·남광락(경산)시의원 등 경북의 민주당 소속 청년 시의원들이 대거 참석하여 눈길을 끌었다.

서울·부산시장 등 4월 7일 치러지는 재보궐선거를 보름여 앞둔 시점에서 열린 이번 출범식에서는 위원회의 사업발표와 함께 4.7 재보선에서의 승리를 위한 결의를 다지는 시간으로 채워졌다.

을지키는민생실천위원회 출범식에 참석한 진성준 국회의원(을지로위원장)은 인사말을 통해 “서민들의 민생과 한국의 모든 ‘을’을 위해 민주당은 최선을 다하고 있다”고 말하고 “이번 4.7 재보선의 승리는 이러한 을지로 정책을 더욱 힘있게 밀고 나갈 수 있는 계기가 될 것”이라며 위원들의 적극적인 활동을 당부했다.

또, 김태년 원내대표(당대표 직무대행)는 청년위원회 출범식 축사를 통해 “일자리와 생활 인프라를 찾아 경북을 떠나는 젊은이들이 2019년 대비 3만 명이나 된다”면서 “젊은이들이 찾아오고 싶은 경북을 만드는데 그 당사자인 경북의 청년들이 정책을 제안하고 정치활동을 해 주시기 바란다”고 말했다.

한편, 경북도당은 대학생위원회가 내달 출범식을 개최하기로 한데 이어 대부분의 상설위원회 발대식을 상반기에 모두 개최한다는 방침이다.
