【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구한의대학교(총장 변창훈) 평생교육지원센터(센터장 김진숙)는 최근 2박 3일간 교육부와 경상북도 RISE 사업 지원을 받아 추진한 '지역맞춤 비교과프로그램–경상북도 생태·자연환경 문제 해결 및 보존 방안 선진지 견학 프로젝트'를 제주특별자치도 일원에서 성공적으로 운영했다고 15일 밝혔다.

이번 프로젝트는 경상북도가 직면한 생태·자연환경 문제에 대한 실질적인 해결 방안을 모색하고, 지속 가능한 환경 보전 역량을 강화하기 위해 기획됐다. 강의실 중심 교육을 넘어 선진 지역의 생태 보전 사례를 현장에서 직접 체험하고, 이를 지역 여건에 맞게 적용하는 데 중점을 뒀다.

현장 견학에는 김문섭 특임부총장을 비롯한 참여자들이 함께했으며, 성산일출봉과 송당리 마을 탐방을 시작으로 환경 문제 인식 토론과 생태지도 만들기, 한라산 탐방, 곶자왈 도립공원 견학, 보존 및 해결 방안 아이디어 도출, 제주에너지공사 CFI 미래관과 제주국립박물관 견학 등 다양한 프로그램이 진행됐다.

참가자들은 제주 지역의 생태 복원 사례와 자연환경 관리 방식, 주민 참여형 환경 보전 모델을 직접 살펴보고, 이를 토대로 지역 적용 가능성에 대한 토론을 이어가며 환경 문제를 주체적으로 인식하고 실천 가능한 해결 방안을 도출하는 역량을 키웠다.

프로젝트에 참여한 평생교육융합학부 이명주 학생은 “선진 지역의 생태 복원 사례와 주민 참여형 환경 관리 시스템을 현장에서 직접 보고 토론할 수 있어 의미 있었다”며 “단순 견학을 넘어 지역 문제 해결 역량을 실질적으로 키울 수 있었다”고 소감을 전했다.

김진숙 평생교육지원센터장은 “이번 프로젝트는 지역 생태·자연환경 문제를 현장에서 배우고 실천 가능한 과제로 구체화했다는 점에서 의미가 크다”며 “앞으로도 교육부와 경상북도 RISE 사업단과의 협력을 통해 지역 맞춤형 환경 문제 해결 모델을 지속적으로 확산해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 이번 사업은 교육부와 경상북도 RISE 사업단의 지원을 받아 추진됐으며, 향후 성과 공유를 통해 지역사회 전반의 생태·자연환경 보전 역량 강화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

Daegu Haany University Operates Field Trip Program to Advanced Ecological and Natural Environment Conservation Sites in Jeju

Daegu Haany University (President Byun Chang-hoon) Lifelong Education Support Center (Director Kim Jin-sook) announced on the 15th that it successfully conducted a two-night, three-day "Regional Tailored Extracurricular Program – Field Trip to Advanced Ecological and Natural Environment Problem Solving and Conservation Sites in Gyeongsangbuk-do" in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, supported by the Ministry of Education and the Gyeongsangbuk-do RISE project.

This project was designed to explore practical solutions to ecological and natural environment issues facing Gyeongsangbuk-do and strengthen sustainable environmental conservation capabilities. Beyond classroom-based education, the program focused on providing hands-on experience with advanced ecological conservation practices in the field and applying them to local conditions.

The field trip, attended by Special Vice President Kim Moon-seop and other participants, began with a visit to Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak and Songdang-ri Village. The program included a variety of activities, including discussions on environmental issues, the creation of an ecological map, a visit to Hallasan Mountain, a tour of Gotjawal Provincial Park, discussions on conservation and solution strategies, and a visit to the Jeju Energy Corporation's CFI Future Hall and the Jeju National Museum.

Participants firsthand observed examples of ecological restoration, natural environment management methods, and participatory environmental conservation models in Jeju. Based on these experiences, they engaged in discussions on the potential for local application. This fostered their ability to proactively recognize environmental issues and develop practical solutions.

Lee Myeong-ju, a student in the Department of Lifelong Education Convergence who participated in the project, said, "It was meaningful to witness and discuss ecological restoration cases and participatory environmental management systems in advanced regions firsthand. It went beyond a simple field trip and allowed me to develop practical skills in solving local problems."

Kim Jin-sook, Director of the Lifelong Education Support Center, said, "This project is significant in that it has concretized local ecological and natural environmental issues into practical tasks that can be learned on-site." She added, "We will continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Education and the Gyeongsangbuk-do RISE Project Team to expand customized environmental problem-solving models for local communities."

Meanwhile, this project was implemented with support from the Ministry of Education and the Gyeongsangbuk-do RISE Project Team, and it is expected that future sharing of its results will contribute to strengthening the community's overall ecological and natural environment conservation capacity.
