대구시민추진단(이하 시민추진단)은 30일 동대구역광장에서 대구·경북 신공항 특별법 제정을 촉구 하기위해 지역정치권, 시민사회단체와 함께 힘을 모으는 자리를 마련했다고 밝혔다.
대구지역 국회의원과 대구시의원 등 지역 정치권 인사를 비롯해 대구시, 경북도, 군위·의성 지역 시민사회단체 대표가 참석한다. 이 밖에도 군 공항 이전 문제를 안고 있는 광주와 수원 지역 시민단체 관계자들도 함께할 예정이다.
시민추진단은 "시민들에게 제대로 된 민간공항 건설을 위한 '대구·경북 신공항 특별법' 제정의 필요성을 알리고 국회와 정부에 지역 정치권과 시민사회의 일치된 목소리를 확실하게 각인시켜 차별 없는 특별법 제정을 요구하기 위해 촉구대회를 계획했다"고 밝혔다.
이어 “대구경북 통합신공항은 소관부처, 근거법령이 다른 군 공항과 민간공항이 함께 이전하는 최초의 국책사업이다.”며 “신속하고 안정적인 추진을 위한 예비타당성 조사 면제와 국가 차원의 종합적인 배려와 지원을 위한 특별법 제정은 특혜나 무리한 요구가 아니다.”고 주장했다.
