27일 포항시에 따르면 글로벌 이차전지 시장은 앞으로 10년간 초고속 성장해 2020년 461억 달러(한화 약 58조 7,000억원)에서 2030년 3,517억 달러 규모(한화 약 449조1,000억원)로 10년간 8배 이상 대폭 성장할 전망이다.
