강 예비후보는 자신의 페이스북을 통해  “27일부터 중대재해처벌법이 50인 미만 사업장에도 전면 적용된다”며, “우리 당과 정부는 전국의 83만 영세업자의 현실적 어려움을 감안해 법 시행의 유예를 촉구했지만, 더불어민주당의 반대로 무산되었다”고 말했다.

그러면서 “제가 구미에서 만나는 많은 영세업자들도 이대로 법이 적용된다면 무방비 상태”라며 “윤석열 대통령께서도 말씀하셨듯이 근로자의 안전이 가장 중요하다는 것에는 이견이 있을 수 없지만, 영세 자영업자와 중소기업에서 중대재해법이 요구하는 수준의 인력과 비용을 감당하기 힘들다”고 주장했다.

  또한 “어려운 국민의 손을 잡아주는 것이 정치”라며 “유예기간을 주고 현실이 법을 따라갈 수 있도록 해야 한다”고 강조했다.

그러면서 “83만 영세·중소기업과 그곳에서 일하는 800만 근로자의 일자리에 미칠 영향을 고려해 얼마 남지 않은 2월 1일 국회 본회의에서 중대재해법 유예를 결단해주기를 촉구한다”고 역설했다.

강명구 예비후보는 “또 다시 무산된다면 더불어민주당은 민생파탄의 책임이 있음을 알고 이에 대한 책임을 져야할 것”이라고 경고했다.
