지난달 31일 구미시 옥계동 지역구 사무실에서 열린  ‘제1회 국민의힘 구미시을 당원협의회 운영위원회’를 통해 강명구 국회의원이 참석 인원 만장일치로 당협위원장에 선출되었다.

강 의원은 오는 8월 말 중앙당 의결을 거쳐 구미시을 당협위원장으로 최종 임명될 예정이다.강명구 국회의원은 당협위원장에 선출된 직후 “하나 된 마음으로 단합해 구미 발전과 주민 행복을 위해 최선을 다하는 당원협의회가 되어야 한다”며 “겸손과 섬김의 정치로 유능한 당협을 만들자”라며 각오를 다졌다.
