국민의힘 강명구 의원(경북구미시을)이 중소기업은행으로부터 제출 받은 자료에 따르면 지난 5년간(2019-2023) 중소기업은행에서 발생한 횡령 사건은 총 18건, 피해액은 46억 400만 원에 이른다.

횡령 사유로는 가상자산 투자, 주식 투자, 도박자금 마련 등이 있었다. 

미환수금은 15억 1,200만 원으로 전체 횡령액의 3분의 1에 달해 환수 실적은 저조한 것으로 나타났다.

뿐만 아니라 국책은행은 기획재정부의 ‘공기업·준정부기관의 경영에 관한 지침’에 따라 징계부가금 규정을 마련하도록 돼 있지만 기업은행은 어떤 조치도 하지 않았다.

중소기업은행은 “노사 간 합의가 필요한 사안”이라며 “앞으로 충분한 논의를 통해 도입여부를 검토하겠다” 고 해명했다.

강명구 의원은 “내부통제 강화, 징계부가금 제도 도입 등 횡령 비리 근절을 위한 강력한 대책을 마련함으로써 국민의 신뢰를 회복하기 바란다”고 말했다.
