지난달 31일 동구시장을 찾은 임재화 예비후보는 120여명의 지지자들과 함께 직접 물건을 구매하며 상인들을 만나 전통시장의 어려운 운영 현황과 애로사항을 청취했다.

임재화 예비후보는 “물가 상승세에 따른 소비심리 위축, 소비패턴의 변화 등으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 전통시장 상인들에게 실질적인 도움을 주고자 하는 취지로 행사를 마련했다”고 말했다.

그러면서 “이번만 아니라 앞으로도 전통시장 이용해 지역경제 활성화를 위한 노력을 이어가겠다”고 전했다.

장보기 행사는 매주 수요일 임 예비후보와 지지자들의 자발적 참여로 진행되는 것으로 임 예비후보는 전통시장 투어를 지속적으로 이어갈 계획이라고 밝혔다.
