조 의원은 이에 앞서 면접장에서도 동료 의원 및 후보를 ‘파렴치범’ 등 거칠게 표현해 심사위원들로부터 제지를 당한 것으로 알려졌다. 특히, 이철규 의원은 "옆에 사람을 앉혀놓고 파렴치범이라고 하면 되느냐“고 말했다. 심사위원으로서 사실상 조의원의 인간성을 질책한 발언이다.
