이날 오전 10시 대구시청 산격청사에서 열린 TK신공항건설 공공기관 업무협약 체결식을 시작으로 통합신공항 건설과 종전부지 개발이 본궤도에 오를 전망이다.

그동안 대구시와 국회는 SPC 구성을 위해 정부와 공공기관 꾸준히 설득하는 등 백방으로 노력해 왔다. 

지난해 강 의원은 국회 국토교통위원위원회와 해당 상임위의 교통법안심사소위원회에서 ‘대구경북통합신공항 건설을 위한 특별법’ 국회 통과를 위해 정부와 대구시, 여야를 넘나들며 전방위 활약을 펼쳤다.

현재 ‘대구경북통합신공항 건설을 위한 특별법’에 대한 개정 필요성이 대두되고 있고, SPC에 참여를 원활히 하기 위한 공공기관의 개별법 개정도 필요한 상황이다.

강대식 의원은 “윤석열 대통령의 강력한 의지로 그동안 SPC 구성을 위한 정부, 대구시, 국회, 공공기관의 노력이 결실을 맺을 것으로 보인다”며 “관련 법의 개정이 필요한 만큼 이를 빠르게 준비해서 2030년 대구경북통합신공항의 적기 개항에 차질이 없도록 박차를 가하겠다”라고 말했다.

아울러 “K2 종전부지와 부근지역을 동시에 개발해 ‘서울보다 더 살고 싶은 동구’를 건설하겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

Currently, there is a need to revise the ‘Special Act for the Construction of Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport’, and there is also a need to revise individual laws of public institutions to facilitate participation in SPC.

Rep. Kang Dae-sik said, “Thanks to President Yoon Seok-yeol’s strong will, the efforts of the government, Daegu City, the National Assembly, and public institutions to form the SPC are expected to bear fruit.” He added, “As revision of related laws is necessary, we will prepare it quickly to achieve Daegu-Gyeongbuk integration in 2030.” “We will expedite the timely opening of the new airport so that there are no disruptions,” he said.

In addition, he expressed his ambition, saying, “We will simultaneously develop the K2 former site and nearby areas to build a ‘Dong-gu where people want to live more than Seoul.’”
