1일 대구시는 경북 경주 코모도호텔에서 열린 제3회 영남권 미래발전협의회(국민일보 주최)에서 5개 시·도지사가 ‘영남권 시·도지사 공동협약서’에 서명했다고 밝혔다.
또 협의회에서는 홍준표 대구시장이 차기 신임회장으로 선출돼 1년간 영남권 발전과 교류협력 사업을 추진해 나갈 예정이다.
협약서에는 국가 주도의 조속한 신공항 건설을 위해 ‘대구경북통합신공항 건설을 위한 특별법’ 제정을 위한 상호협력 ,정부의 글로벌 혁신특구 정책이 지역균형발전에 실질적 도움이 되기 위한 공동 대응, 정부의 수도권 내 공장 신·증설 입지 규제 완화 추진에 공동 대응, 원자력발전소 인근 지방자치단체에 대한 정부 차원의 재정적 지원 등 실질적인 혜택 지원방안이 마련될 수 있도록 상호 협력,국가균형발전을 이루기 위해 중앙정부의 재정과 권한이 지방 정부로 이전될 수 있도록 공동 협력한다는 내용을 담고 있다.
홍준표 대구시장은 “연내에 대구경북통합신공항 특별법을 통과시켜 대구경북통합신공항을 인천공항 물류·여객의 25% 이상을 처리하는 중‧남부 중추공항으로 조속히 건설해 영남권 전체의 상생 발전과 지방 경쟁력을 확보하도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
