【브레이크뉴스 대구 】박은정 기자=  대구시와 광주시는 지리산휴게소에서 대구경북신공항·광주군공항특별법  동시 통과 기념행사 및 달빛고속철도 특별법 공동 추진 업무협약을 체결했다고 17일 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 홍준표 대구시장과 강기정 광주시장을 비롯해 양 도시 의회 의장, 국회의원과 관계 공무원 등 200여 명이 모인 가운데 진행됐다.

협약서는 달빛고속철도의 조기 완공을 위해 영호남 시도와 정치권이 함께 예타 면제를 담은 특별법 제정에 노력하고, 2038 하계아시안게임도 정부승인과 해외도시와의 유치경쟁에 함께 나서 공동 개최도시로 최종 선정될 수 있도록 정부 지원과 국민 지지를 이끌어 내기 위한 협력을 담고 있다.

특히, 양 도시는 이번 공항 특별법 동시 통과에 머무르지 않고, 달빛고속철도 조기 건설과 2038 하계아시안게임 공동유치를 위한 협약식을 통해 달빛동맹을 더욱 견고히 다져 미래 발전을 함께 약속했다.

홍준표 대구시장은 “이번 특별법 통과를 계기로 두 도시가 영호남의 새로운 경제의 축으로 발전하기를 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 양 지역에 실질적인 도움이 되는 협력사업들이 성공적으로 추진될 수 있도록 긴밀히 협조하겠다”고 밝혔다.
