이번 공모전은 도심 속 대표공원으로 자리 잡은 대구선 공원(동대구역∼대림육교/총 길이 7.5㎞)에 대한 공공디자인 아이디어를 모집하기 위한 것으로 총 72점의 작품이 접수됐다.
동구는 공공디자인 진흥위원회의 심사를 통해 최종 21점의 작품을 수상작으로 선정했다.
대상은 아양기찻길~아양공원 구간에 옛 누각의 형상을 현대적으로 재해석한 이중호 씨의 ‘지붕누각’ 작품이 선정됐다.
금상은 황은령 씨의 아양로 구간에서 단절된 선형공원에 연속성을 부활시켜 상부에는 공중정원을, 하부에는 미디어아트 기획 공간을 디자인 한 ‘아양을 잇다’ 작품이 선정됐다.
수상작 21점은 7월 한 달 간 아양교역 지하철역사, 동대구역사, 아양아트센터 등에서 릴레이 전시회를 통해 주민들에게 선보여질 예정이다.
윤석준 동구청장은 “도시는 이제 단순한 계획과 설계의 단계를 넘어 특정 도시만의 느낌, 즉 어버너티(Urbanity)를 디자인하는 시대로 나아가고 있으며, 이는 다양한 주민들의 관심과 참여 없이는 불가능하다”며 “공공디자인 공모전을 지속적으로 추진해 참신하고 수준 높은 도시 디자인 아이디어를 발굴하고 사업에 적극적으로 반영해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
