20일 대구 동부경찰서는 동구 혁신도시에 위치한 공공기관에서 A씨(30대)를 성폭력범죄의 처벌 등에 관한 특례법 위반 혐의로 불구속 입건해 조사 중이라고 밝혔다.

A씨는 지난달 31일, 기관 내 여성 탈의실 세면대 위 통에 볼펜형 소형 카메라를 숨겨두고 직원들을 불법 촬영한 혐의를 받고 있다. 해당 장비는 한 직원이 볼펜 모양의 이상한 물건을 발견해 경찰에 신고하면서 적발됐다. 경찰은 즉각 현장 폐쇄회로(CC)TV를 분석해 A씨를 특정하고, 그날 긴급 체포한 것으로 확인됐다.

경찰 조사 결과, 적발된 카메라에는 당시 탈의실을 이용한 직원 3명의 영상이 저장된 것으로 파악됐다. 조사 과정에서 A씨는 혐의를 인정한 것으로 전해졌다.

해당 기관은 사건 직후 즉시 A씨를 직위해제하고 출입을 제한했다.

한편 경찰은 A씨에 대한 구속영장을 신청했으나, 법원은 A씨가 범행을 인정하고 있는 점 등을 이유로 영장을 기각했다. 경찰은 추가 피해자가 있는지와 촬영 영상이 외부로 유포됐는지 등을 수사하고 있다.
