신태용 감독이 이끌고 있는 인도네시아 축구 U-19 대표팀이 24일부터 4월 14일까 대구에서 전지훈련을 실시한다.

대구시는 선수 40여 명과 코칭스태프 22명으로 이루어진 인도네시아 대표팀이 대구스타디움, 강변축구장 등 대구 곳곳의 축구장에서 훈련과 연습경기를 실시한다고 22일 밝혔다.

이번 전지훈련은 인도네시아에서 개최 예정인 2023 국제축구연맹(FIFA) U-20 월드컵을 대비한 훈련의 시작으로, 대구에서 머무르는 기간 중 현재 울산에서 소집 훈련 중인 대한민국 축구 U-19 대표팀과의 연습경기도 두 차례 예정되어 있다.

인도네시아와 대한민국 대표팀 간의 연습경기는 대한축구협회 주관으로 25일, 29일 대구스타디움 보조경기장, DGB대구은행파크에서 각각 개최될 예정이다.

그 외에도 인도네시아 대표팀은 대구·경북 지역 프로축구단의 2군팀, 유스팀들과의 연습경기도 조율 중이며 4월 14일 모든 훈련을 종료하고 서울로 이동, 15일 인도네시아로 떠날 예정이다.

권영진 대구시장은 “지난 2020년 인도네시아 축구 U-20 대표팀이 대구 전지훈련을 계획하다 코로나19로 인해 2021 U-20월드컵 대회가 취소되며 무산된 것으로 알고 있다”며, “지역에서 나고 자란 신태용 감독이 이끄는 인도네시아 대표팀의 원활한 전지훈련을 위해 적극 협조할 예정이다. 전지훈련지로서의 대구가 더욱 알려지는 계기가 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.
